Current or Retired K-12 Teachers – Looking for Meaningful Work During School Hours?

Love teaching math and/or ELA? Want to continue making a difference in a fun, supportive environment while earning extra income — with hours during the school day (plus some after-school or weekends if you like)?

Join our team at Sylvan Learning Center in Lake Mary!

Why Teachers Love Working With Us During the Day:

• Work with small groups or one-on-one — no lesson planning, no grading, no classroom management stress
• Enjoy a positive, upbeat atmosphere where kids are excited to learn
• Flexible scheduling that respects your availability
• Use your teaching expertise to help students build confidence and master skills

About the Role

As a Sylvan Teacher, you’ll deliver personalized instruction in math and/or ELA using our proven, engaging programs. You’ll create balanced, fun learning sessions that help elementary students grow — all in a low-pressure, rewarding setting.

Key Requirement:

• Availability during school hours (Monday–Thursday, mornings and early afternoons) is essential for this position.

What You’ll Do:

• Greet and engage students, making every session welcoming and inspiring
• Teach using Sylvan’s structured, research-based math and ELA programs
• Celebrate progress with praise, encouragement, and Sylvan tokens
• Track student growth and communicate successes with center staff
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and motivating environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Current or retired K-12 teacher (or strong experience with this age group)
• Experience teaching math up to Pre-Algebra and/or ELA/Reading
• A genuine passion for motivating and inspiring students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility, problem-solving ability, and a team-player attitude
• Degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or related field is a plus

If you’re a dedicated teacher who still loves helping kids “get it” and wants a fulfilling role during the school day without the full-time classroom demands, this could be the perfect fit!

Locations: Lake Mary and optionally Longwood
Hours: Part-time, primarily during school hours (mornings & early afternoons, Monday–Friday)

Ready to bring your classroom experience to a fun, supportive team during the day?

Apply today — we’d love to hear from you!
