About the position
GD Resources LLC is seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist to support pathology and laboratory documentation at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The position involves producing accurate medical reports from oral dictation and voice-recognition software.
Employment is contingent on contract award, government acceptance of the candidate, and successful completion of required onboarding. Hours are not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
Transcribe pathology and laboratory reports from oral dictation.
Review and edit text produced by voice-recognition software.
Check medical terminology, spelling, grammar, and report formatting for accuracy.
Identify unclear or inconsistent dictation and obtain clarification through authorized channels.
Enter and maintain documentation using approved VA systems.
Protect patient information and follow VA privacy, confidentiality, and information-security procedures.
Coordinate with pathology and laboratory staff to support timely report completion.
Required qualifications
Appropriate experience in pathology/laboratory transcription or equivalent medical transcription work.
Ability to transcribe oral dictation and use voice-recognition software.
Knowledge of medical terminology and strong written-language skills.
Accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency with computer systems.
Currently reside within 75 miles of the Memphis VA Medical Center .
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
U.S. citizenship, as required for access to VA computer systems under this contract.
No specific professional certification or license is required by the solicitation for this role.
Onboarding requirements
Selected candidates must complete VA-required background screening, fingerprinting, orientation, privacy/security training, and system-access procedures. Current BLS documentation, required health records, and acceptable federal-facility identification must be provided before assignment, as applicable.
